Bulan lalu saya pulang ke Tarakan, kota kelahiran saya, untuk menghadiri resepsi pernikahan seorang saudara sekalian nyambangi orangtua saya. Keesokan harinya saya dan istri, Stephanie, beserta ayah saya nyekar ke makam kakek dan nenek. Sudah hampir dua tahun saya tidak pulang ke kampung halaman. Biasanya setiap awal April, saat ada upacara untuk mengenang para leluhur, saya pasti pulang. Namun karena kesibukan yang sangat luar biasa maka dua tahun terakhir ini saya terpaksa absen.

Saya menggunakan kesempatan ini sebaik-baiknya untuk memberikan penghormatan dan terima kasih yang sedalam-dalamnya dan mengenang semua jasa kebaikan, pelajaran, cinta, dan hidup yang telah dibagikan kepada saya, oleh kakek dan nenek saya tercinta.
